The ball is rolling on the Cape. The presentation of the official ball for the 2010 FIFA Football World Cup in Cape Town – one of the milestones in the run-up to any FIFA Football World Cup. 200 international top journalists and celebrities from the world of football are guests of this event which will be transmitted globally via live stream.

Our task? Designing and implementing the press event including the unveiling and symbolic handover of the FIFA World Cup ball to South Africa. In the show, the cheerful South African mentality, which is also expressed in the name of the ball – “Jabulani” means “joy” and “celebrate – will be translated into music and choreography. The especially composed “Jabulani sound” will act as a leitmotif through the entire show. The real highlight will be an oversized, completely veiled ball, on the veil of which technology and design inspirations for the new FIFA World Cup ball will be presented by means of laser projections. The FIFA World Cup ball will then be introduced to the world in the presence of adidas group CEO Herbert Hainer, honorary team captain Franz Beckenbauer and the football star David Beckham and finally handed over by FIFA president Joseph Blatter to Dr. Danny Jordaan, the chief executive of the organising committee for the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
