A chance to lead change. The World Games 2009 – a sporting spectacle of superlatives. The biggest event ever to take place in Taiwan. A global Uniplan team from Taiwan and Germany creates and implements the opening and closing ceremonies.

> Additional information

More than 4,000 performers are involved in the show in Kaohsiung, including international superstars like the British tenor Russell Watson and the famous singer Hayley Westenra from New Zealand. The show tells the story of the island of Taiwan and the port city of Kaohsiung. Elements such as traditional symbols and customs dominate the choreography, as does modern technology. The exceptional artistic dance and acrobatics performances take place on a gigantic virtual stage – created by an oversized ground projection. The final highlight of the ceremony is a spectacular show of pyrotechnics. Taiwan presents itself to the eyes of the world in a highly professional and very emotional way: More than 40,000 enthusiastic spectators follow the show live in the stadium. The media interest too is immense. A sporting event in a class of its own!
