One world, one dream. The 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing – a sporting event of the superlatives. And right in there at the front: Switzerland in the “House of Switzerland”. Our task? The interior design of the National House; its opening is attended by more than 7,000 visitors.
The “House of Switzerland” is situated in the up-and-coming 798 Art Zone, an artists’ quarter based in an old munitions factory. With a surface area of 4,000 sqm, it is the largest-ever presentation of Switzerland at the Olympics. And: It is one of the few national Houses accessible to the public. In cooperation with “Präsenz Schweiz”, the Swiss Olympic Association and Lucerne Tourism, we are responsible for the conceptual, architectural and graphic interior design of the entire House. This also includes the design and implementation of all the temporary installations such as lounges and exhibition stands of well-known Swiss companies like Schindler, UBS and C.F. Bucherer. The public is offered an insight into Swiss culture, sport, industry and cuisine. The media are enthusiastic – Switzerland, that’s where it’s at!
