Introduction

The Stage for Global Innovation

Uniplan designed and delivered a booth that served as both a global stage for technological innovation and an intuitive, human-centric environment for Signify at the Light + Building 2026.

Signify sought to move beyond the traditional trade show format to create a high-impact presence at Messe Frankfurt. Our goal was to showcase their diverse portfolio - from professional and OEM lighting to advanced IoT systems - by transforming complex technical solutions into a tangible, immersive brand narrative.

Challenge

Making the abstract tangible

In an environment defined by high-performance technology, the challenge was to avoid a product-heavy, static display.

Signify required an architectural environment that could seamlessly integrate eight distinct thematic pavilions while still maintaining a singular, cohesive identity. The space needed to address the rigorous sustainability standards of the "Brighter Lives, Better World 2030" program while providing a platform that felt as welcoming as it was technical.

The challenge lay in presenting this vast, complex ecosystem in a way that felt intuitive instead of overwhelming. We needed to move beyond the traditional product showcase, ensuring that visitors could experience Signify’s products in action, rather than simply hearing about them in theory.

What We Did

Choreographing the ‘Sunlight Boulevard'

To anchor the booth, we developed the "Sunlight Boulevard": a dynamic, central alley that serves as the booth’s architectural core.

This installation was designed to simulate the authentic rhythm of natural light, transitioning organically from the energy of high noon to the atmospheric warmth of the golden hour. By utilizing the boulevard as an intuitive navigational tool, we linked eight specialized thematic worlds, including Office, Retail, and Industry pavilions.

This design approach allowed us to move away from theoretical presentations and instead provide real-world environments where booth visitors could experience the capabilities of the Signify Interact platform in action.

How We Delivered

Engineering a high-performance brand stage

We realized a hybrid, highly interactive experience that prioritized emotional impact and functional clarity.

Throughout the space, we facilitated a visitor journey designed to balance large-scale innovation with dedicated zones for the client's technical highlights, such as AI-enhanced dashboards and new connectivity solutions.

In addition to the Sunlight Boulevard and the thematic pavillions, the integration of a Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team-car served as a high-visibility focal point, successfully symbolizing the shared ambition of precision, high performance, and sustainability between the two partners.

The result was a comprehensive brand ecosystem that reinforced Signify’s position as a trendsetter, demonstrating that when strategy and spatial design align, technical complexity becomes an unforgettable, human-centric moment.
