Introduction

Step into a world of wonder at Jewel Changi Airport.

Singapore Changi Airport has long been celebrated as one of the world’s most stunning airports. As a global leader in online travel services, Trip.com offers a comprehensive range of travel solutions to customers worldwide, including flight bookings, hotel reservations, train tickets, car rentals, attraction tickets, holiday packages, and more.

This year, Trip.com collaborated with Uniplan to create a spectacular multi-national journey at Jewel Changi Airport – the crown jewel of Changi’s many attractions.

The project aimed to engage visitors at Changi Airport, elevate brand recognition through immersive, experiential activities, and strengthen the connection between Trip.com’s premium product offerings and its international presence.

The Challenge

Creating a Multi-Country Cultural Experience

The challenge was to position Trip.com as the ultimate one-stop solution for international travel, effectively communicate its brand values, and create an offline experience that captured attention.

The design needed to seamlessly blend product features with interactive experiences that would resonate with a diverse, global audience.

With its renowned architecture and rich array of immersive experiences, Changi Airport set a high bar for innovation. Uniplan rose to the occasion, designing an engaging multi-country travel experience that showcased Trip.com’s value to travellers worldwide, sparking their passion for travel.

What We Did

Immersive Design Meets Global Reach

Uniplan took Trip.com’s core brand concept and seamlessly integrated the diverse travel cultures and experiences of different countries to elevate the brand’s international profile.

Four culturally themed installations were strategically placed around the Rain Vortex, the iconic architectural feature of Jewel Changi Airport. These installations blended the cultural charm of each destination with an immersive experience, allowing visitors to connect with the spirit of travel.

Each installation was thoughtfully designed to encourage interaction, photo opportunities, and check-ins, featuring a blend of cultural symbols and travel themes that appealed to a wide audience.

As visitors shared their experiences on social media, the installations generated global attention, significantly boosting Trip.com’s brand exposure and engagement.

How We Delivered

Embarking on a Global Journey: A Celebration of Travel

A grand display was carefully curated around the Rain Vortex, inviting visitors to embark on a journey through four distinct destinations: China, Japan, Thailand, and the UK.

Each installation not only celebrated the essence of these countries but also offered valuable insights into Trip.com’s services and travel tips.

In China, a playful panda captured the hearts of travellers. Set amidst a serene bamboo grove, where light and shadow danced together, this charming scene invited visitors to lose themselves in the peaceful beauty of the East.

Japan’s majestic Mount Fuji and the dazzling Fireworks Festival set the stage for a sensory experience like no other. Under the soft glow of neon lights, the combination of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi evoked the excitement and festivity of Japan’s rich cultural traditions.

Thailand’s vibrant spirit came to life through colourful festival lanterns and cheerful blue elephants. These elements, infused with energy and warmth, celebrated the lively culture of Thailand, drawing visitors into its joyous atmosphere.

The United Kingdom was represented by the timeless elegance of London Bridge. Bathed in gentle light beneath a starry sky, the bridge’s majestic silhouette conjured images of romantic European adventures, offering a touch of class and charm.

Each installation masterfully combined aesthetics and functionality, becoming a magnet for visitors eager to engage, pose for photos, and create lasting memories. Along with the valuable travel information provided by Trip.com, these experiences ensured that visitors were not only visually captivated but also equipped with practical travel advice, further strengthening the brand’s commitment to providing exceptional service.
